Plan to attend the first ever Purple and White Jubilee for all graduates and ex-students of Elgin and Washington high schools. A slate of activities are being formulated by the Elgin Alumni Association for the weekend that is being coordinated by event co-chairs Sydna Arbuckle and Marjorie Matetzschk.  The classes of the 1950's are sponsoring the first Jubilee, which will continue every five years. A very special surprise guest is expected on Saturday's agenda.  On Friday, the EISD Education Foundation golf tournament, coordinated by Bill McCrary, is planned. Special guests will be the State-winning EHS golf team of 1959-60. The Distinguished Alumni Awards committee will be accepting nominations next spring and more information will be available later.
A mixer with food, beverages and a DJ will be held Saturday evening at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for visiting and catching up with friends. From there, separate reunions and dinner with classmates can be held.  On Sunday morning, an 8 a.m. breakfast with special music and tours of the school facilities will gather attendees before they go their separate ways.

Membership fees are only $10 and may be mailed in to Elgin Alumni Association, P.O. Box 310, Elgin, TX 78621. Spouses who are not grads or exes are also encouraged to attend.
