    Ribbon Cutting – Caliber Collision

    You are invited to a ribbon cutting and open house  for the grand opening of Caliber Collision on Wednesday, October 23 at 11:45. Join us as we officially welcome Caliber Collision to the community. They are located at 1131 Hwy 290.   

    Request for  Assistance

    Neidig Elementary School is having a Read and Treat activity on Thursday October 31. This is an all school day event. They are needing community volunteers to  come for 20 minutes, or more depending on their schedule and time. Volunteers can read to one or more classrooms. For more information on this volunteer opportunity contact : Daniel Alvarez, School Counselor, Neidig Elementary School. Phone: 512-281-9702. Email: daniel.alvarez@elginisd.net

    Neidig Elementary has also started a reward program for students and are requesting small prizes or gift certificates from local businesses(Examples: gift certificates of ice cream cone, pencils, small toys, etc)  If you would like to participate  contact school counselor Mr. Alvarez – at the above contact information.

    Come downtown for the Pearls Before Swine Art Show at the Clever Tiger, Hogalicious Dessert contest at Eva Mae’s. There will be live music, store specials and fun from 5pm-9pm.   

    Free Street Dance Friday - October 25

    Kenny Orts and No Chance on Depot Street from 8pm to midnight

    Thursday and Friday nights

    All day Saturday

    Safe Trick or Treat Trail  - Thursday, October 31

    You are invited to participate in this fun event on Thursday, October 31st from 6-8 pm in Downtown Elgin.  This is a great way to share a fun safe evening with the youth of our community and promote your business.    

    Register to pass out treats on the trail by contacting   community@ci.elgin.tx.us   Limited space available - you provide your own table and chair and the treats, you'll be in a  space under a canopy in front of a downtown business.

    Ribbon Cutting

    You are invited to join  us as we welcome Elgin Wellness Shoppe  to their new location at 109 N. Main Street. Ribbon Cutting will be on Thursday, October 10 at 5:30.

     

    Mural Dedication

    Join the Main Street Program and the Downtown Public Art Plan Committee to celebrate the mural dedication on Thursday, October 10  at 6:30pm at the alley at 116 Depot Street – next to the post office. 

     

    Sip Shop and Stroll

    Come downtown Thursday, October 10 to enjoy all the festivities from 5pm-8pm.

    Elgin Chamber of Commerce Membership Luncheon, Foster Community Cares, National Night Out, Wildcat Homecoming Pep Rally & Parade

    Happy Monday! We have a busy week in Elgin! Below are a few reminders about upcoming events:

    NATIONAL NIGHT OUT - Downtown Party

    Join your business neighbors and friends for a National Night Out gathering on Tuesday, October 1st. It will be held at the State Farm Insurance Office at 14 North Main Street at 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Please attend and meet your neighbors.

    HOMECOMING PEP RALLY & PARADE

    Show your Wildcat Spirit and support our Elgin students on Wednesday, October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans' Memorial Park. Parade will travel down Main Street at 6:30 p.m. - followed by the pep rally.

    OCTOBER MEMBERSHIP LUNCH

    This month's membership meeting will be held on Thursday, October 3 at the Library Community Room at 11:30 a.m. Our speaker will be Sheila Lowe with the Bastrop County COAD (Community Organizations in Disasters). The COAD is a community organization made up of public, private, voluntary and nonprofit agencies and organizations in Bastrop County who may provide support in all phases of a disaster; Preparation, Response, Recovery and Mitigation. The COAD is a collaborative working group in which all the participants are equal partners and strive to deliver necessary resources for a disaster phase. Make plans to join us to learn more about the County COAD and how the Elgin Chamber of Commerce is involved in the organization. Lunch is $10 and payable at the door.     CITY OFFICES AT FLEMING CENTER - Open House

    Following the Chamber lunch on Thursday, stop by the Fleming Center at 802 N. Avenue C for refreshments and a tour of the new Community Services and Code Enforcement offices.

    HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME

    Support the Elgin Wildcats on Friday, October 4th as they take on the Marble Falls Mustangs at Wildcat Stadium at 7:00 p.m.

    FOSTER COMMUNITY CARES

    Elgin Families are invited to this special event on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Lagos Elementary in Manor. Representatives from 20 organizations will share more about the support services available for adoptive/foster and kinship care families and how people, churches and civic groups can volunteer to help those families in the Manor and Elgin communities. It's a fun, family-friendly event with snacks, raffle prizes, giveaways, and activities, plus there will be a mini info session for those interested in becoming foster/adoptive parents. For more information on how you can help, contact @fostercommunity.org
