    To Chamber Members:

Happy Thanksgiving!  The Chamber has much to be thankful for this year including each one of you! We hope you have a wonderful holiday celebrating with family and friends!

Speaking of celebrating…….make plans to attend the Elgin Chamber Christmas Party on Thursday, December 5. This annual holiday event is a great way to kick of the Christmas season with your fellow Chamber members and community leaders. The party will take the place of our Chamber lunch. The event will be held at the Carter Home at 1005 Red Town Road from 6pm-9pm. It is always a fun event and I personally invite each of you and your employees to attend.  Contact the office to RSVP and for directions.

    Shop Small Saturday

Support our local businesses on Saturday, November 30. Shop Small Saturday is an  annual event, first celebrated in 2010. It  calls attention to the importance of shopping at small businesses that serve as the backbone of the economy and local communities. Many of our businesses are participating and offering great deals on unique products and services.

    Hot Cocoa Stroll

The Hot Cocoa Stroll is Saturday, December 7 from 2pm-5pm. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to sign up to pass out free hot cocoa samples to anyone that has purchased a holiday mug. These festive  holiday mugs will be on sale for $10 from the Chamber and will  allow participants to sample hot cocoa from participating “Chocolatiers”! If you do not have a downtown business – you can still participate!  Space will be  available  to set-up for  any business, church or organization not physically located in downtown that wishes to serve cocoa.   The participating “Chocolatiers" will receive recognition in advertising and in hundreds of flyers  promoting the event. Chocolatiers will also compete for prizes in the best of the best tasting contest!

It is sure to be  a fun and delicious  event and everyone is encouraged to sign up to give cocoa away or buy your mug and participate in the stroll!

Volunteers are needed to help sell the mugs during the day on December 7 from 2pm-5pm. We also need volunteers to be  an “official”  judge for the event. Contact the Chamber to sign up or for more information.
