Elgin Chamber of Commerce Membership Luncheon, Foster Community Cares, National Night Out, Wildcat Homecoming Pep Rally & Parade

Happy Monday! We have a busy week in Elgin! Below are a few reminders about upcoming events:

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT - Downtown Party

Join your business neighbors and friends for a National Night Out gathering on Tuesday, October 1st. It will be held at the State Farm Insurance Office at 14 North Main Street at 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Please attend and meet your neighbors.

Show your Wildcat Spirit and support our Elgin students on Wednesday, October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans' Memorial Park. Parade will travel down Main Street at 6:30 p.m. - followed by the pep rally.

This month's membership meeting will be held on Thursday, October 3 at the Library Community Room at 11:30 a.m. Our speaker will be Sheila Lowe with the Bastrop County COAD (Community Organizations in Disasters). The COAD is a community organization made up of public, private, voluntary and nonprofit agencies and organizations in Bastrop County who may provide support in all phases of a disaster; Preparation, Response, Recovery and Mitigation. The COAD is a collaborative working group in which all the participants are equal partners and strive to deliver necessary resources for a disaster phase. Make plans to join us to learn more about the County COAD and how the Elgin Chamber of Commerce is involved in the organization. Lunch is $10 and payable at the door. Please RSVP to the Chamber office at 512-285-4515 or by emailing info@elgintxchamber.com

Following the Chamber lunch on Thursday, stop by the Fleming Center at 802 N. Avenue C for refreshments and a tour of the new Community Services and Code Enforcement offices.

Support the Elgin Wildcats on Friday, October 4th as they take on the Marble Falls Mustangs at Wildcat Stadium at 7:00 p.m.

Elgin Families are invited to this special event on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Lagos Elementary in Manor. Representatives from 20 organizations will share more about the support services available for adoptive/foster and kinship care families and how people, churches and civic groups can volunteer to help those families in the Manor and Elgin communities. It's a fun, family-friendly event with snacks, raffle prizes, giveaways, and activities, plus there will be a mini info session for those interested in becoming foster/adoptive parents. For more information on how you can help, contact @fostercommunity.org

    Have a great week!
